Don’t Let Them Do It!

One of the great lessons I learned early in my working life is never be pressured into doing anything fast. If someone says, “The deal is only available now. If you don’t take it by this date/time, you’ll have missed this opportunity.” Always, always say ‘no’ when given these ultimatums. Right?

So why should we rush to spend $700B on a so-called rescue plan for Wall Street? This breaks all the rules I’ve grown to understand; free enterprise, the wisdom of markets, the role of capital markets, and the reality of failure. So what’s this all about really?

Here’s what I’m beginning to believe and I hate that I believe this:

n It’s all a lie.

n The sky is not falling.

n Yes, we’re going to have some tough times ahead.

n Our business is going to take a major hit and could fold.

n Our personal life is about to get badly rocked.

n Our two college kids will be adversely impacted. The free ride is over.

n And in the end, I’d rather have all of this happen, than fund this bail out.

Please folks, don’t let this happen. This will turn out to be THE smoking gun exposing the direct connection between the rich and the political elite. This country is no longer about you and me. It’s about keeping the rich and elite, rich and elite. Time for a good ole revolution. Seriously.
