Renn is a very proud liberal Democrat who believes in getting things done rather than fighting with Republicans. He lives with his wife Mo and two kids in Marin County just north of the Golden Gate Bridge and co-owns a company based in San Francisco. Renn has served as a Congressional aide on Capitol Hill, worked with street kids in New York City and spent more than a decade creating public and commercial broadcasting.
Renn volunteers his communication training (real work, not boards) at San Quentin Prison, the United Way of the Bay Area and with many other worthy programs. He also teaches at the University of San Francisco, serving as an Executive in Residence. Fancy aye?
When Renn’s not doing all this, he’s running the Marin headlands, banging on his piano or chasing down his and Mo’s two college kids.
Keeping a promise to himself when he was a starving 17 year old, Renn ran for Congress in 2004 predictably losing to an entrenched incumbent who hasn’t done anything real for anybody in 15 years of “service.” Bitter? Nah. Just amazed.
